Well here we are in 2013 and we are coming up on the constitutionally mandated yearly state of the Union address. Which reminds me that the Senate is also constitutionally bound to pass a budget every year and we haven’t had one of those in three years. Can you say dysfunctional.
Now to the big bet amount the nations news services. They all are asking and answering the question will Obama blame his predecessor for our current failed economy? It’s pretty much a landslide for yes he will. CNN, Fox, all networks. In fact I couldn’t find any real news source that had that he would not blame Bush. It’s becoming so clear that even a blind man can see this tactic, and can you blame him for not continuing to use it if its working With the public. It’s exactly like you and me in our jobs. If we don’t produce any results we were supposed to after working on a project for four years, we just blame the schmuck who had it before us and all is well. Ok I’m exaggerating, we all know we’d be fired three and a half years ago being in the private sector where they expect results.
If history tells us anything, and all the answers usually lie there, it that all presidents have blamed their predecessor for failures during their presidency. First there was…, uhhhhh, the…, you mean there never in history was a president who public ally blamed a former President for his failure. Nope not until now. Thought for sure FDR would have laid some blame on Hoover, but no not even one President ever. Remember the buck stops here of president Truman. That has been the code of our leaders, instead of the buck stops there.
So what is my opinion. I think he will be a leader in this address and move forward from the blame game of his past addresses, and instill some much needed confidence that he has a plan that will work. History also tells us no leader of any country ever succeeded by blaming anyone, ever. We can hope anyway. Like on those old posters of the President. After all if he fails, we all suffer.
